Heres the situation. I have fallen in love with a friend. I have told him how I feel about him in a PM a few days ago but he has not said yes he is interested or no he is not, he is just still talking to me and acting as affectionate as he always does. He has told me that he is incredibly busy right this moment, but it will ease up in a few days. I told him that I am very busy as well (I am ) and that we can chat next week. We chat via PM every day and he always encourages me in what I do and has nice things to say. He told me he thinks I am amazing, kind, and generous in the past and he is always there for me. We both havent been involved with anyone for over 10 years and another important detail is that he has Asperger's Syndrome. I dont see him face to face often due to circumstances (I dont drive) but I will be getting my driving license and will be seeing him in June, July and August. In August we will be going on a week long trip away with friends. So, I asked the question: I need to know, I want to know, what will happen if I continue thinking that what ___ and I have will blossom into a romance? I drew unchanging Hexagram 30. Any thoughts?

Basics of Liu Yao/WWG
Even though there are some old topics for different rules of Liu Yao/WWG(working with the lines directly), the basic rules are still difficult to be found. Books about that are very few, calculators are also very few and either payed or in Chinese, so seems good idea to post some of the foundation rules for working with the lines.
Will start with the Palaces. That is the first step that we base everything on after.
While there are differences in the way we read the Lines after we assign them, in different practitioners and schools, the assignments are almost always the same for the branches/family relations etc.
First thing that everything else is based on later is the element of the Hexagram.
To find its element we use the 8 Palaces.
That we can see in Wilhelm's translation(needs to be full edition however), in there in Appendixes we can see:
II. The Hexagrams Arranged by Houses
So the idea here is that each "House" will be the element all Hexagrams in it will inherit.
And if we look how it works, we can see all of them start with the same Trigram for Heaven and Earth(upper and lower) , then we have lines changing one by one, going up to 5th.
All this isn't explained in Wilhelm's texts, however we can see it here:

On the Page 5 is the arrangement we use(there are other arrangment, this one is the one used in practice).

A lot can be said about this movement, but that isn't the important part, important part is that all 8 Hexagrams of each palace will have that element.

In medical yi jing that types of Hexagrams often come up when a person will fall in coma(more details for that in The Medical I Ching: Oracle of the Healer Within: Miki Shima, that is more connected to Mei Hua in my opinion, but it uses the types of Hexagrams from WWG and it is good book).

Realizing it can never get to Heaven Ti goes back, changing the whole base it was using before back to what it was before it started. Last step called Returning Spirit. In same book we can see the idea that it often happens when a person will die in medical Yi Jing.
(working with the lines that moves a lot back as a priority, because the lines relations take priority over type of Hexagram, but the idea of something Returning is there and important).
Overall this is the journey each of us take in different houses and elements step by step, and in each step there is a very good chance instead of next Hexagram at the same Palace it will change in something entirely different. And that is what we study and contemplate while working with the changes.
That are the Hexagrams of the Palaces and some of the idea behind the movement there. Every one of the Palaces will go through the same changes and Ti and Yong will be in the same position for each palace.
Now, that is enough to find out on what Line we are, and to find the element of the situation/Hexagram we ask about. Can also help to recognize some new types of Hexagrams, specifically Wondering Spirit and Returning Spirit.

Potential 61.2 > 42
Hello friends! It has been a while, but I have been lurking as I have been working with Yi on my own. Still single, and finding a fulfilling relationship has proven to be quite a challenge.
In talking with someone on a dating site, this connection shows potential. So, I asked Yi "What could develop between E and me?" and received 61.2 > 42.
That sounds rather encouraging. We are from the same part of the United States and have similar interests, including aviation. E seems like a very genuine person and I feel a connection between us that has begun to develop. Granted, there is quite an age difference, but I'm not averse to that at all.
I take the reading to mean that there is a genuine connection, almost like a gift given from the universe. Perhaps it also goes on to say just let it naturally develop, and 42, increase will occur between us. Almost sounds like more can develop. Am I reading this correctly?

60.1,6 to 59
I'm in the middle of an extremely difficult situation: I have an extreme sensitivity to mold, and my next-door neighbor made some unfortunate decisions after her house flooded that led to her spreading manure contaminated with toxic mold all over her land. The result is that I can't be anywhere on my property at the moment. I do have some hope that things will change, but it looks as though it will take months, not days or weeks. And in the meantime, I have no safe place to live. It's extremely difficult for me to find housing that I can tolerate. My husband and I have been living in our van in the meantime.
I asked the Yi about the best approach to this situation overall and got 61.1,6 to 59. I'm not exactly sure what to make of it, because the interpretations of the two lines that come to my mind push in different directions. 61.1 seems like advice to retreat: I could try to limit my interactions in the world and mostly stay in the van. But 61.6 warns against bitter limitations, and staying in the van most of the time sounds pretty bitter to me at the moment. I suppose the advice could be to look for a middle ground somehow.
I'd also love any thoughts on 59 here. Perhaps it's advice that I can count on the mold to go away with time? Or, more grimly, count on it to continue to disperse across my property?
Or another way of looking at the reading is to see it in terms of direct advice about how to deal with the mold: I need to do something to keep it in place on their land, so it doesn't go dispersing from my neighbor's property (the "family room") onto mine. The neighbors are cooperative (if idiotic), so they'll let me take steps to deal with it on their property. My strategy so far has been not to cover the remnants of the manure that's there, so that the sun can kill the mold and denature the toxins, plus I'm having them spray it all once a week with a microbial liquid that (I hope) will outcompete the mold. But an alternate approach is to cover the manure with mulch to keep it in place. That has the downside that the mold could perhaps just spread through the mulch, continuing the problem.
Guess I'm pretty confused by the significance of this.

Lake trip. 49 > 56 or 42 > 23
Last fall I began an internship with a local Chinese medicine practitioner. It's been going pretty well, I've learned a lot, and we've gotten to know each other better. His parents own a big boat on a lake and he, his wife, and kids go up to the lake quite often in the spring and summer. He insisted that I come along for some big going-away party for one of his friends on Memorial Day.
I'm kind of on the fence about it, as it might be nice to get to know him and his friends/family a bit better, but it also sounds awkward as he is literally the only person I'll know, and I'll be stuck on a boat with all of them for 2 days; sounds rather uncomfortable to me. i don't want to offend him though. I also need to request off work very soon if I want to be able to go, and I already have some small vacation plans this coming weekend. My job has been rather hectic lately, so on one hand, maybe nice to get away some more, but on the other hand, I feel like they need my help right now and while I could likely have the time off granted, it would be granted reluctantly, and I'd feel slightly guilty. Also, I am sure there will be a number of other opportunities to go to the lake with them throughout the spring/summer.
Anyway, unable to come to a clear decision, I consulted the Yijing.

Hexagram 49 deals with change and transformation, so perhaps I'm in a situation where I have to get out of my comfort zone, and there is change in my social sphere.
Line 1 seems to imply waiting or not acting. Maybe this period right now of deliberation? Line 5 seems to imply this could be a transformative experience in some way, seems pretty clear about this being an obviously good direction. Line 6 seems to say something about dealing with the changes this might bring about, not getting carried away with them. Hexagram 56 makes sense to me, in this situation I would feel kind of like a stranger and have to make my way around people I don't know in a place I've never been.

This confused me. Hexagram 42 deals with adding, augmenting, increasing activity, seeing benefits. Line 1 talks about accomplishing great deeds, having success. It's certainly a favorable line. Line 5 also seems quite positive, but more in a matter-of-fact kind of way. Hexagram 23 seems rather blunt--"don't undertake anything."
I was confused by the second oracle only because it seems to possibly imply doing what oracle one was asking about--increasing involvement by going. But as that was not what the question was about--it was about NOT going--then that interpretation seems wrong to me, so I am just trying to figure out how that fits.
Anyway, if you can lend your insights or thoughts, I'd appreciate the added perspective.

Career questions 11.6 to 26 and Hex 63 and 11 repeating
My husband and I have been working on advancing his acting career for a few years. He's had some success here and there with small things, but this month (April 2017) he had a huge breakthrough and signed with an agent. He has yet to receive work through his agent although he has had the opportunity to meet with important people in the film industry since signing. We are feeling frustrated because we just don't know what else we should be doing to move things along.
I have consulted the Oracle on this matter several times and I feel like I understand what is being said mostly, but I fear my own misinterpretation as I am still new to the I Ching.
My most recent inquiry has left me feeling very confused.
I asked
"What if we continue to pursue a career in acting for Z-?"
The answer was 11.6 to 26 This isn't the first time I received hex 11 in regards to this matter.
Previously I asked
"How can I help Z- realize his dream of making a living as an actor? "
I received 11.2.3 to 24
I have also received hex 63 repeating when I asked
"Will continuing to pursue Z-'s acting career produce any benefits for our family? "
The answer was 63.2.5 to 11
I then asked
"What are the chances that Z- will find success in a career as an actor?"
I got 63.1 to 39
I have studied these Hexagrams and I feel that I am being told that things are in the works and not to give up but I'm not sure if that is a correct interpretation. We have put so much time and energy into this goal and everyone tells him how talented he is, I just don't know what our next step should be. Do we wait and be patient? Is there something else that we should be doing that we are not doing? Is this a fruitless endeavor? Should we be using our energy and resources differently? His day job is very physically and mentally demanding so I do most of the leg work on this. I feel that I should also note that he suffers from severe PTSD and acting is a type of therapy for him so this is about more than just some hobby.
Any insight into this situation would be greatly appreciated!

64 50 motherhood
Today I'm feeling sad and anxious because I haven't got a child yet. I want so much to have my family, my children but I am really worried if it will ever happen. Time flies. I am thinking of a sperm bank to achieve pregnancy as my last resort.

What I understand from the line is "you can't act alone, you don't have the power to get pregnant"

The resulting hexagram 50 The Cauldron is it auspicious for pregnancy? It seems so.

Love advice
There is this man in my work group. At first he showed interest-he flirted with me, I flirted right back- then the communication ceased. I feel like he likes me but maybe he's not in the right state of mind for a potential relationship (after having a long one) , or maybe he realised he doesn't like me that much; he clearly knows I like him. His ex (2year relationship) is also in our work group, they separated more than 6 months ago.

Trying to Detrmine Line Pathway for 62.4 Exploding My Head
Hi everyone,
I've just today begun playing around with what Hillary calls line pathways, Lise calls line squares and Karcher crossline omens.
I really like the idea of being able to follow each line through it's resulting line, then its inverse line, then that line's resulting line, back to the original first resulting line.
It is 2.2am here, which may account for it, but I quite simply cannot come to a satisfactory discovery of 62.4's line pathway.
62.4 > 15.4
15.4 inverse is 16.3
16.3 > 62.3
And then how the bloody sodding hell does 62.3 make its way back to 62.4? What am I doing wrong? I've looked at this about seven times now and it is refusing to make sense to me!

Love advice- 2 different results from online reading vs coin reading!
Hi there,
Okay I'm slightly confused as I did both the online clarity reading plus a coin tossed reading the old fashioned way. If you read the attachment it describes a particular reading result.
I did the coin toss (30 mins after the online one) and got this instead.

Could it be that they are both correct from different perspectives? Do you have any advice in terms of asking the same question e.g. if you ask once is it best not to ask again for a particular amount of time? Is it common to get conflicting advice when done two different methods or within a short space or time? Advice please!

I made an inquiry asking the I Ching whether a person's feelings and intentions towards me is something true and lasting or something superficial and temporary and was answered 51.1.2> 40
I met this person in December. We had excellent chemistry and we came to a serious relationship, but some of us had some misunderstandings because of his inconsistent way of being and I ended up ending the relationship. He went through a very painful break 3 years ago and has since met several people, but he was not seriously involved with any of them and I was the first person he started a relationship after that period. Our relationship ended in February, but we did not remain without communication. Lately he shows that he wants to resume the relationship, but I'm afraid he'll get back and hurt me again (Yes, I'm in love with him) because he is one of the most passionate men in the world and not another cold one. I always dream of him asking me not to give up on him and asking for patience because what he has, is fear of love and afraid of me hurting him. I asked that question because I'm not sure about his intentions.

In contemplating this line today I find the "no praise" part interesting.
Isn't being venerable and upright praiseworthy in and of itself? Or is the "time" described by this line a place of marriage between "venerable" and "upright" that has the potential to move either toward blame or praise depending on choices made?
I am thinking getting an "upright husband" puts one in the position to be successful in making a transition --- crossing the Great Pass.
One hasn't crossed yet. No blame, no praise. There is still work to do. One must "choose a direction to go". Will one choose a direction that will yield blame or praise? Or perhaps one's direction will be unnoticed and neither praised nor blamed.
Are there any bees to pollinate the flowers so the situation can bare fruit? Will the fruit be nourishing or poisonous?

I met someone recently and we connect quite well. There's some very nice chemistry that we both acknowledge and I'm curious what the potential is for us. However, she is an astrologer and feels there are some unfavorable aspects in how our charts line up. The Western astro compatibility is very strong, but the Vedic system isn't so strong. Because of that she's reluctant to explore our connection further, though would like to be friends.
I asked Yi to comment on the potential for a romantic relationship and got the following:

That certainly seems like a favorable cast, but given the astrological concerns she's expressed I'm not sure how to interpret it. Is this something that might have more potential than indicated by the horoscope? Or would it be advisable to take her reluctance at face value and let it go?

Will we see each other again Hexagram 19.4 to 54
My question was regarding a connection I had with someone, I asked the YI if we will be together again. The answer I received was Hexagram 19.4 to 54.
I took this to mean the relationship/connection to one another has recently come to a close, however it may return after a period of a really long time, and return stronger and deeper.
Any thoughts if my interpretation seems fitting?

Just thought i might ask for some help on this reading, brain is a bit muddled.
Been having some cash flow issues again , grrr
I have been asking on and off on advice on the issue, i have been getting some really positive readings but still seem to be in the same situation. I have a campaign going to improve things or try too.
I simply asked will this campaign be successful.
Some of the lines are very auspicious, not so sure about line 6.

I've had this line a couple of times recently for two different situations. Having searched both the forums and the Wiki for possible meanings and found quite a few conflicting opinions, I thought people in a similar position may find it useful to know how things worked out with these.
Both situations involved a conflict with another person (the inferior person mentioned in Wilhelm's commentary?) and felt that I was very much in the right. I had a choice of going head to head with the person and blowing up the issue into a fight ("powerful in the cheekbones"?) or...well, this is where I got confused because the whole "walking alone in the rain" thing didn't seem to make any sense. Then I realised that in both cases it meant basically to humour the other person, even though they were blatantly wrong. Not to charge in guns blazing, but to keep hold of my objective yet let things play out. In both cases there were "people murmuring" (both internally and externally) about this decision, but as things played out, this does seem to have been the right thing to do under the circumstances. Being fighty would have been far worse.

Hexagram 23 Stripping Away
On 6-separate readings over the last 6-weeks I have gotten the Hex 23, stripping away. I usually ask questions about what path I should take for my future, or should I return to Asia (from USA) and start teaching again. Yes, I am going through a bit of a nasty divorce (male mid-life mental illness). After I got this card again today, I began once more to declutter the second floor of my house. My used items are gathered and ready for charity. I mean I literally stripped away even a number of sentimental items. I am thinking that this hex is telling me that I will loose my home in the divorce because of fighting and that I should prepare for that next great move! My baby brother died a month ago after a long illness and so my time spent away has delayed this process as you can imagine. But does anyone have some suggestion about what I am being shown to do? I think the message is very very clear, to strip away so that there is no choice but to move forward!!! At the same time I get Hex 23 I often get Hex 56, Wanderer. Am I being asked to leave for the journey? What is to become of my dogs if that is the case? I have been unable to find homes for them or any of my cats, so I worry about losing house and taking off. But maybe this is the best thing in the end?
