Have you ever used the I Ching to guess about someone's looks?
I asked "What does he [someone I don't know in person] look like" and got 55.3>51
Let's try to decode it- 55 is named Abundance, so there is something great or extravagant about this man's physical appearance: very big? very handsome? very tall?...
55 also talks about the screens that obscure (though it's not the part of hexagram I care much about)- so he may have a dark/mysterious aura around him.
However by looking at the judgement we find the opposite:
"Liu: Greatness. Success. The king attains greatness, without sadness; he should be like the sun at midday."- Someone who seems happy and brilliant, like the sun at the noon. And he's the "king", so I assume this guy is charismatic; his looks attract others, maybe even command their respect. Also as the hexagram is about the new king on the throne, he'll be young.
The relating hexagram- 51, Shock- talks about surprise. Something about his looks is whether weird or wonderful, which strengthens my idea of 55's extravagance.
Now the line, 55.3:
Blofeld: "So copious is the rain that, even at midday, there is obscurity. He breaks his right forearm -- no error!" Obscurity again, and the rain: sadness? lots of tears? humid-looking eyes?
Liu: "Heavy clouds -- a fine drizzle can be seen. He hurts his right arm. No blame." Clouds... dark aura.
Wilhelm/Baynes: "The underbrush is of such abundance that the small stars can be seen at noon. He breaks his right arm. No blame." Maybe silly, but made me think of someone whose hair on the face covers the eyes.
Ritsema/Karcher: "Abounding: one's profusion. Sun centering: visualizing froth. Severing one's right arm. Without fault." Something "abundant".
And all the lines talk about the broken arm- does it mean physical disability?
So what does he look like? He's a man who has a weird/special appearance & some physical disability, possibly with a dark aura, and is attractive all-in-all.
