Hello,
lately I moved to the big city where my partner lives and where Ive always want to live.
I left the job I used to do for a small firm and Im trying to work on my own.
This is a little challenging situation because I have to start from scratch, so I feel excited and scared at the same time: will I succeed? Will I fail?
So I asked the I Ching what I have to do to have success in my business and the answer was hexagram 46 unchanging: Pushing upward. I took it as a good sign, because I know that a lot of hard work is needed to reach my goals and I am ready to do it with a full commitment: I love my job and Im pretty good at doing it. The tricky (and for me scaring) part is about getting customers: actually something is going on at a slow pace, but I think this is the way business things are getting started.
Yesterday I received a very good job offer from a major company in the small town where I used to live before to move out.
I felt flattered but also overwhelmed by a jumble of thoughts: should I say yes? Or should I say no and keep going on my own in the place I love to be? Am I refusing a good chance?
I want to say NO from the depths of my heart because I want at least to keep triying to do something that really belongs to me, a job in which I can put something of my very self.
Moreover, I know backtracking wont be easy or painless, but at the same time Im afraid to regret the choice to be on my own and so on.
So, in order to get out of this impasse, I asked the I Ching:
What if I say no to this job offer?
And I got 64.3.5.6 > 48
I found it quite auspicious and truly resonating with me and with the transition Im facing.
Hilary wrote about the line 5:
Radiant confidence in the possibility of change - no regrets for the past, and a true grasp on the present moment and I interpret the change is what Im doing right know (on the present moment) for myself with no regrets for the past (the past which this job offer could get me back to).
Im just confused with what I read about the image: Also the image of something light and radiating over the danger or chaos. The image of light (ideal) guides you over the dangerous and icy waters and helps you to reorganize.
That makes me think Im misinterpreting the whole thing, since Im eager to read it as an encouragement to go on with the path Im walking: whats the light that guides me? Is what I want and I deeply feel inside me? Or rather is this job offer, which is radiating over the danger and the chaos?
So I asked what if I say yes and I got 60.1.2.5 > 2
The bitter measures gave me a lot to thing about: I got this hexagram quite often in the past, specially when I asked about my former job, which was safe but it costed me a lot of struggles and sacrifices (for instance, living far from the people I love and in a place I didnt like).
Am I wrong? Am I missing something important?
I really appreciate some help from you, because Im afraid Im not clear headed for this reading: theres a lot to go through
Thank you so much.
Eleanor
