I have been living in a very small studio for the last 19 years (yikes!). Over the years Ive been told I can move to a bigger unit and been put on various lists to no avail. Management has changed around a bit, possibly getting more shady with each change. I recently asked the seemingly nice Christian lady that deals with tenants the most about a move to the unit next door to me that is all I desire from a space in this building. At first she was amicable but as time approached her story began shifting with talk of regulations around the such a transfer. I spoke with both the city and state agencies that govern my rent stabilized building yesterday (its a nyc thing) both of which told me there are no rules about this and that its fine for me to transfer contrary to latest story Id been told. I sent my request in today with a relaxed note that Id done my research and would appreciate the transfer. So my question to Yi was:Getting my landlord to move me to a bigger better studio in my building" and Yi' answer, 32.6 to 50.Thanks for any insight!
