16.3.4.5 >39 vs 54.1.2.3.4.6>52

Which one is the better choice?

I asked two questions - - -
should I make contact and got the 16>39
Should I not make contact and got 54>52

There are so many changing lines I really don't have a clue.
The only thing I can come up with is 52.5 says "he keeps his cheeks bones at rest and acts correctly" leading me to think that not making contact is the best course of action.

Please help!!! I am so overwhelmed
